There are bonds that begin long before we ever imagine that one day, we may have to miss them.
They are built through simple gestures, familiar habits, and quiet acts of care… through all the little things that become so natural we never think we could lose them.
This turquoise opal memory ring was created to keep one of those bonds close.
A bond that does not disappear with absence, because it has had time to become part of who we are.
The opal reveals soft turquoise glows, sometimes light, sometimes deeper, like a light that changes yet never fully disappears.
And at the center, a fine line of memory moves gently through that light with great delicacy.
This creation honors Louise.
There is something unique about a mother’s love.
Even when she is no longer there to answer, to comfort, or to reach for our hand, there remains within us a way of still hearing her.
In certain thoughts.
In certain reflexes.
In those moments when all we wish is to tell her, “You see… I was thinking of you.”
A mother leaves behind far more than memories.
She leaves a way of loving.
And a way of feeling loved, too.
And that trace does not fade easily.
It was with that in mind that I shaped this ring.
With slowness, with respect, and with the kind of care we give to something that can never be replaced.
Because here, it was never simply about creating a beautiful ring.
It had to feel gentle.
It had to feel right.
It had to become that quiet little bond kept close through ordinary days, but also through the ones when the absence returns a little more strongly.
Its delicate form gives it something almost fragile.
But what it represents is not fragile at all.
It is the love once received, the presence once known, the tenderness of a mother whose place remains deeply rooted in her daughter’s heart.
At Fetstan, this is when my work takes on its deepest meaning.
When I know that what I hold in my hands is not only a creation, but a story someone entrusts to me with great emotion.
So nothing is rushed.
Nothing is done mechanically.
Every gesture matters, because behind every detail is someone who still matters deeply.
A mother never truly stops walking beside her daughter.
Sometimes, she simply does so in a different way.
