There are some people whose place in our lives can never simply become empty.
Because they have left too much behind them: a voice we still seem to hear at times, a way of being, moments we once thought were ordinary and that now carry immense value.
This memory ring with ashes was created for one of those kinds of bonds.

And for me, it was an honor.

I took the time to work the material, to return to the details, to make sure each gesture was guided by precision and by the respect a creation like this deserves.
Because here, creating a beautiful ring was not enough.
It had to feel right.
It had to welcome that story with dignity and slowly become something the wearer would recognize as truly their own.
A ring others may look at without ever knowing its secret.
Yet the person who keeps it close will understand every part of its meaning.
They will know why it is there.
They will know who comes to mind when they look at it.
And perhaps, in the middle of a more difficult day, they will simply find in that small circle something familiar, something reassuring, something deeply precious.
That is where, for me, a Fetstan creation takes on its fullest meaning.
When the piece stops being only something I made and becomes part of someone else’s story.
I cannot erase absence.
I cannot change what has been lived through.
But I can work slowly, with my hands, to offer that memory a place worthy of all that it represents.
And when this ring finally leaves my workshop, I know it carries far more than my work alone.
It carries a story that was entrusted to me.
And I deeply understand the value of that trust.
Because some people leave our sight,
