Three Rings. One Family. One Shared Presence.
Some memories belong to one person alone.
And then there are those that move through an entire family.
One presence can hold a different place in every heart, leave behind different memories, create unique bonds… and still continue to bring those who remain together around the same story.
These three family memorial rings were created in that spirit.
Three distinct pieces, three personalities, three ways of keeping close the memory of the same person.
The first, in tungsten, carries amethyst-toned opal around a delicately integrated ring of remembrance at its center.
It has a soft, deep light — almost calming in the way it reflects.
The second embraces the depth of black ceramic and black opal.
At its center, the ring of remembrance appears with restraint, surrounded by darker shifting reflections that give the piece a quiet and refined presence.
The third, also in black ceramic, is illuminated by deep blue opal.
An intense blue that changes with the light and gives the ring a calm, almost magnetic strength.
None of these rings tries to look exactly like the others.
And that is precisely what I love about this set.
Because within a family, love is never expressed in exactly the same way.
We do not remember the same moments.
We do not hold on to the same images.
Each person carries a different part of someone who mattered deeply.
And yet, when these three rings are brought together, it is immediately clear that they belong to the same story.
That story is Simon’s.
Three creations were chosen to honor him, each with its own identity, yet all shaped with the same respect and the same attention.
I do not know every memory these rings will come to hold.
I do not know all the conversations, habits, laughter, or moments this family keeps close.
But I do understand what it means to be entrusted with something this important.
And when several members of one family each choose a creation, that trust takes on an even deeper meaning for me.
So nothing was rushed.
Each ring was given the time it needed.
Each color had to find its depth.
Each line had to feel right.
Each creation had to stand on its own while remaining connected to the others by something far greater than appearance.
At Fetstan, some creations tell a deeply personal story.
And sometimes, as here, several rings come together to tell something larger: the mark one person can leave across an entire family.
Three different rings.
Three ways of remembering.
But at the center of each one, the same reason they were created.
One person can leave a different place in every heart,
and still continue to bring those hearts together.
